Why can’t I select an exact time (e.g., 4:00 AM) when scheduling a scan?
Last updated: July 24, 2025
When you configure a schedule in the dashboard (e.g., to run a scan at 4:00 AM), you may notice that the system shows a slightly different time, such as 4:39 AM. This is expected behavior.
Why this happens
Our scheduling system allows you to select an hour, and then automatically assigns the best available timeslot within that hour. For example, if you choose 4:00 AM, the scan might be scheduled at 4:12, 4:39, or 4:57 AM.
This design ensures that scan start times are distributed across the hour, rather than concentrated at the top of the hour - which is typically the peak.
What this means for you
Optimized performance: Your scans won’t get stuck in a queue with others starting at the same minute.
More predictable execution: You’re less likely to experience delays, especially during peak hours.
Zero manual tuning needed: The system picks the most efficient minute-slot automatically.
Can I request a fixed time?
Yes, if your use case requires scans to begin at an exact minute (e.g., 4:00 AM sharp), contact our support team. We can configure it manually as a one-time exception.
Please note: Fixed-minute scheduling isn’t available via the dashboard and is only granted in select cases.
